Pupil, Georgia, one of our dedicated Eco Monitors, recently received a response from the Palace! In June, Georgia took the initiative to write a heartfelt letter to the King, sharing her concerns about plastic pollution and her passion for sustainability.

In her letter Georgia expressed her worries about plastic pollution’s impact on the environment. A true champion of change, she mentioned her role as an “Eco Monitor” at Broomwood, where she has been active in ensuring that every classroom is equipped with a recycling bin. She also recounted her visit to the Wandsworth Recycling Centre, where she learned about the three R’s: Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle—a guiding principle in her environmental efforts.

Broomwood shares Georgia’s commitment to sustainability and is proud of her role in our Green Team, which includes pupil representatives from every class. Together, they are working towards the prestigious Eco-Schools Award. In the coming months, the Green Team will conduct a thorough audit of the school’s green credentials and propose ways to make Broomwood even more sustainable.

We’re so proud of our pupils’ commitment to the environment, and it’s amazing to see Georgia’s efforts being recognized.

Here’s to Georgia and the Green Team’s continued efforts to make a lasting, positive impact!
