Broomwood – A Multi Award Winning School

As the term draws to a close, we are delighted to announce that Broomwood has been shortlisted  for Independent School of the Year for Student Well-being. Broomwood was singled out for the well-being programmes across all school sites. Staff were praised for embarking on a pupil wellbeing survey, listening to children, and shaping their pastoral care accordingly, whilst also stretching pupils’ learning.  The final results of the Independent Schools Awards 2024 will be announced at an award ceremony in October.

This closely follows our winning the 2024 Private Schools Award;  receiving a Highly Commended award in the ‘Passionate about Sport’ category from Muddy Stilettos; and being finalists in this year in the Education Choices Awards for improvements in equality, diversion and inclusion.

Celebrating Excellence: Our School’s Achievements This Year

We are incredibly proud of our staff and students for their outstanding achievements this year. Their dedication, hard work, and passion have been recognized through the numerous awards and accolades, showcasing the exceptional talent within our school community.

Academic Success Our students have excelled in academic competitions, bringing home awards in competitions ranging from mathematics to poetry.  Our leavers’ cohort students has been one of our strongest ever, with 42 scholarships/exhibitions to top senior schools (cohort of 103), reflecting their commitment to academic excellence and their bright futures ahead.

Extracurricular Excellence Beyond the classroom, our students have shone in their extracurricular activities. Our sports teams have celebrated numerous victories, including being first time winners of competitions such as the Caldicott Cup as well as individual accolades. In the arts, our music and drama departments have produced exceptional performances and creativity.

Innovative Teaching Our dedicated staff have also been recognized for their innovative teaching methods and contributions to education. For example, with thematic learning and our Pre-Prep idea of the YETI, where the youngest children are taught resilience and that they may just not be able to do something “YET”.

Community Engagement Our school has also made significant strides in community engagement, with students and staff participating in various service projects and initiatives with wonderful charities such as Little Village. Their efforts have not only made a positive impact on our local community but have also instilled a sense of  responsibility and compassion in our students.

Proud to announce that the wonderful Broomwood community has raised over £30,000 this year for our charities NAEF (St George’s school in Ethiopia) and Critical Care.

We look forward to continuing our path of change, improvements, and excellence in the coming year. Congratulations to all for a remarkable year!
