Wellbeing matters

“We want every pupil to feel safe, both in and out of school. Part of this means knowing that there is always someone you can turn to and trust”

Each of our school sites has a designated safeguarding lead (DSL) with overall responsibility for the management of safeguarding, supported by a Deputy DSL’s. Our pastoral teams meet regularly to ensure that we have a whole child-view, and all staff are trained in dealing with safeguarding concerns.

At Broomwood, we ensure that every pupil’s wellbeing and happiness is central to all that we do and bound into our structures and processes, whether via the House and tutor systems, counselling or within regular staff meetings.

Equality and inclusivity

As a co-educational school we actively educate our pupils about diversity in all its many forms, and we encourage and promote a culture of tolerance and respect in each of our schools.

We work with our local agencies – including the Wandsworth Safeguarding Board. They are satisfied that the protocols we follow are robust and any concerns are dealt with swiftly and appropriately. The Department for Education has opened a helpline to provide support and guidance to adults and children who have experienced sexual harassment or abuse in education.
