Central to the Broomwood Community
Broomwood has a very active and friendly Parents’ Association. It operates as one charity, with separate Chairs at each site. All parents are encouraged to get involved and it is a great way to get to know people across the different school sites and throughout the school.
The PA organises the social activities of the school and raises money for charity.
Monies raised are divided between NAEF, the charity set up in 2012 and a rotating local ‘charity of the year’.
The PA holds events for both parents and children throughout the school year such as termly cake sales, book sales and other social activities. Past events have included parties, fetes, sponsored reading and running competitions and an annual quiz night.
The PA also acts as the voice of the parent body and holds regular meetings with the school Heads.
The PA has a Secretary and a Treasurer, as well as the site Chairs, and is made up of a representative from each Year and form in the school. Reps attend PA meetings which are held four times during the year (twice in the Autumn term and once each in the Spring and Summer term) and help with the activities that are organised during that year.
